Thanks to MTV, we now have a sneak peak into the upcoming companion book for Sex and the City 2. It’s looking fabulous! Check it out:
The 176-page movie companion isn’t due out for another two weeks, but we got a look at a couple of pages as a sneak peek. The first two feature a statement both from leading lady Sarah Jessica Parker and writer/director Michael Patrick King, in front of a photo of them on set.
“It seems our [‘SATC’] adventures never end,” SJP writes, “but I never imagined this one would take us so very far away from New York City. I was so glad it did, however, because after what proved to be an exotic, colorful, inspiring, difficult, incredible, unimaginable, and memorable seven weeks in Morocco, we got to come home.”
She adds, “We leave ‘Sex and the City 2’ with memories of reuniting on fabled Fifth Avenue in New York City, riding camels, climbing the dunes of the Sahara, and navigating through the tiny corridors of the main souk in Marrakech But mostly and most often, we’re endlessly reminded of how lucky we were to be working together, and how fortunate we were to be having this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. And to enjoy and savor every single waking moment. It was a unique and glorious journey, and I do so hope the experiences of seeing the movie and browsing these pages allows you the same. Because, as always, we did it for you.”
The book will be released on May 14, and runs at $20.

A new poster of Sarah in Sex and the City 2 has been released. This time, however, it features not just Sarah, but all the ladies!! To check it out, click on the image to the left! 🙂
Apparently Sarah will be narrating the Met’s American Woman Exhibit. She is very in demand these days, which is perfect for us!! 😉
Not only does Vogue love Sarah Jessica Parker so much that it put her on its highly coveted May cover to correspond with the Met’s “American Woman” show, but Wintour and the Costume Institute gang have also tapped the quintessential American lady to narrate the patriotic exhibit!
On Tuesday, Parker recorded the guide to the “American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity” exhibit, which looks at women’s clothing from 1890 to 1940 and homegrown style movements such as the Gibson Girls, bohemians, and screen sirens.
“Because of Sex and the City, she is so much associated with New York and with America, and with using fashion as a way to shape identity,” Costume Institute curator Andrew Bolton explains to WWD.
And really, who could possibly better narrate a fashion exhibit than Parker, who perfected the art of the breathy voice-over in her six seasons as the ever-contemplative Carrie Bradshaw!
Luckily, from what we’ve heard on the Sex and the City 2 trailer, it seems the girl still has the hair-raising narration skills in her!
“It’s been two years,” Carrie says in the trailer. “And in two years, amazing things can happen. Things you thought would never happen in a million years. Just when you think you’ve seen it all, it hits you. You haven’t seen anything yet.”
We can only hope her explanation of the importance of mutton sleeves is half as enticing.
We have two more new stills of Sarah in Sex and the City 2. Loving all the updates we are getting lately!! To view, head on over to the gallery. 😉

We have some new information regarding the Sex and the City 2 soundtrack, and it’s even better than imagined! SJP might be singing a tune on the new cd. Check it out:
Alicia Keys performs a cover of Blondie’s 1980s classic “Rapture.” And it’s not just any cover, it’s a mash-up with the iconic Sex and the City theme song that’s played during the movie’s opening theme.
I’ve heard a snippet and lemme tell ya, it works. “Rapture” and the SATC theme go together like a frosty cosmo and a pair of Manolo Blahniks. It just feels and sounds so right.
Soundtrack label WaterTower Music honcho Jason Linn tells me über-producer Salaam Remi had Keys in mind when he created the mix. “We’re so fortunate to have her,” Linn said. “She’s the perfect voice to introduce the…music of Sex and the City 2.”
Next up is the return of Jennifer Hudson. Nope, the Oscar winner is not reprising her role as Carrie Bradshaw’s assistant, but she is back in song. She and Brit songbird Leona Lewis duet on an original ballad written for the movie called “Love Is Your Color.”
Again, we’ve heard a snippet—it’s friggin’ good!
Even the stars of the movie are on the soundtrack with Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristen Davis and Cynthia Nixon performing the Helen Reddy karaoke favorite, “I Am Woman.” As you may have already heard, Liza Minnelli covers Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies” as well as a new rendition of Cole Porter’s “Ev’ry Time We Say Goodbye.”
The soundtrack, which also has new music from Dido and Cee Lo, will be released on May 25, just two days before SATC hits theaters.
I have quite the loot for you all today!!! With the premiere of Sex and the City 2 coming closer, we are being rewarded with 10 new stills of Carrie goodness!!! Can May get here any slower? Check them out in the gallery below!

As we mentioned a couple of months ago, Sarah is the cover girl of Vogue’s May 2010 edition. She looks absolutely stunning!! This has to be one of my most favorite shoots of her ever. To view all the images click on the image to the left. I will add scans soon!
“It’s an exciting time at that company,” Parker says. “It has had some false starts that are well documented and it is relaunching itself. It has a wonderful legacy, and I couldn’t say no, and I’m…uh, figuring it out.” So figure this: How many hours are there in the day, Sarah Jessica Parker? “Well, there are 42 hours in the day,” she tosses back. “How many hours are in your day? We’ll see how successfully I manage this. I, you know, I don’t do movies all the time.” As she says of all her professional choices, “Does it scare me? Am I intimidated? Am I challenged? That’s kind of the way I’ve always made decisions. And luckily, the Halston offices are about a ten-minute walk from my house.”
