SHE came, she saw, she conquered the hearts of many Filipinos with her effortless elegance, sparkling wit and charming candor. The recent visit to Manila of Hollywood A-lister and fashion icon Sarah Jessica Parker, also known to fans and admirers simply as SJP, kept the Metro abuzz for weeks, resulting in a launch of the landscape’s newest luxe shopping destination and a marketing campaign so unforgettable and impactful, it will be remembered for years to come.
Given the relative secrecy preceding her arrival in time for the SM Aura Premier opening, top management and a small team within the SM Retail group worked quickly and quietly to make arrangements for the advertising, event and publicity requirements for the mall opening and the long-term The SM Store campaign. Working without much fanfare, they were rather amused—and, of course, appalled— at how others brazenly hitched onto the SJP bandwagon and made outrageous claims, much of it in social media.
During her brief stay in Manila, SJP spent a full day working on The SM Store’s “Love to Shop” campaign, which broke out recently in print and broadcast. Befitting her status as fashion icon, SJP’s look for the campaign was pulled together by a glam team she brought along with her.
Here are some behind-the-scene highlights on how photographer Daniela Federici, stylist Tracy Cox, hairstylist Andy Lecompte and makeup artist Leslie Lopez worked together to come up with SJP’s “Love to Shop” look for The SM Store.

Most of us have a favorite teacher, a mentor who inspired us and shared wise words that have remained with us the rest of our lives.
For Sarah Jessica Parker, that teacher was David Blackburn, the former associate artistic director of Cincinnati Ballet, who died on June 15 at the age of 76. He had been treated for several different types of cancer in recent years.
She studied with Blackburn for just four years, from the age of 8 to 12. Rather than pursue a career in dance, though, she went on to a famously successful career in television and film (Carrie Bradshaw in “Sex and the City”) on Broadway (“Once Upon a Mattress”) and as a producer of both television and film (“Work of Art: The Next Great Artist” and “Pretty Old”).

Sex and the City‘s Carrie Bradshaw is considered a fashion icon to many women, but the woman who played her says she doesn’t identify.
“It’s not an identity that I … connect to. I’m grateful if anyone says anything kind, and if they say something less kind, I take that as a part of anyone talking about you at all,” Sarah Jessica Parker told PEOPLE on Wednesday night at the Barneys New York and Walt Disney Company ‘Electric Holiday’ launch. “It’s not how I think of myself and I think it’s probably the healthier approach.”
Don’t get her wrong — the actress still appreciates a good outfit. “I love beautiful things,” she said, “and I’m privileged to borrow a beautiful dress. I feel really lucky and I genuinely enjoy it. I feel like [fashion] has a proper place in my life.”
But let’s just say you won’t catch her in a tutu at the grocery store. “It’s just not a reality — not when you have three kids and you go to the market and there are hungry people at home. You have a limited time to do it. There’s just no time to let vanity enter into that,” she said.
After over a year with the last layout we finally have a new layout! I used one of my favorite photoshoots of Sarah. I will be making a new layout for the gallery as well very soon. Also, I will catch everything up on the site very soon. Expect lots of new pictures and new content! I hope that you like the new look. Feedback is always welcome!
