Starting Friday, Dec. 17, several celebrities – including Sarah Jessica Parker’s — are putting the coats off their back on the auction block for a good cause. The auction, running through December 27 on eBay, is part of The Glad Products Company’s Celebrity Coat Auction with all proceeds benefitting One Warm Coat, a nonprofit that provides free coats and cold-weather accessories to families in need.

With 20 percent of U.S. children living in poverty, one in 10 parents has had to borrow or receive a donated winter coat for their child. Now Glad is encouraging consumers to help get warm coats to those in need by bidding on Glad ForceFlex bags filled with celebrity duds.

Now through May 30, 2011, Glad is offering free trash bags through The Bag Bank to help consumers tackle their own community service projects – such as coat drives and community clean-up events.
